App-based transport service providers to go on strike from midnight

The app-based drivers' union in Bangladesh (a platform for drivers offering ride-sharing services) will continue work abstention tomorrow in order to push home their six-point demand. Belal Ahmed, the coordinator of the platform, stated that the 24-hour abstention period will begin at 12:01 AM. After speaking to 35 unions representing app-based service providers in Sylhet, Chattogram, and Dhaka they announced the program a few days ago. They want app-based service providers to be recognized as labour, a 10% commission on all rides, a halt to police harassment, and a designated parking spot. Belal Ahmed stated that there was no link between their program and today's incident in which an owner burned his motorcycle after being fined for multiple times. https://www.real
